INDEPENDENTS BEAT VISITING AURORA TEAM October 31st - Aurora put up a good fight as promised. In a letter to the Independents the week prior to the game it was explained that Aurora has saved it's top players for this chance to beat the Independents. The second team had played a horrible game and lost by a score of 53-3. Not wanting Flanigan to cancel the game the letter was sent explianing that Aurora would be ready and to let the public know it would be a good game.

The Game - The Independents scored in the 8th minute on a nice 20 yard run by Murphy. Later in the half Murphy hit a 20 yard place kick to put the Independents up by 10. In the second half with the visitors not moving the ball well, Liitt decided to work on forward passing and a more open style of play. The team did not score a single point.

Rivals Impress - The Rival Moline Red Men continued on with their good season. Cabery visited Moline yesterday and were defeated for the first time in 2 years.
