INDEPENDENTS RUN ALL OVER DUBUQUE TEAM September 14th - Jack Collins the Dubuque manager and coach was nowhere to be found yesterday. It is unclear which team showed up but it did not appear to be the highly touted Hawkeyes. The player's names were as expected but the team as a whole was just a notch above a practice squad. It appears the second or "road" team was sent in place of the first team.

Game - The Independents used the game to get all of the players work. Most of the game the Independents practiced the forward pass and if they could not get the required 10 yards in 3 downs they would just run on 4th down to move the chains.
