TUESDAY NOV.24, 1914 Championship Talk - The Rock Island Independents have a chance to get some national recognition when they play the Evanston North Ends. The team from Evanston just played Detroit Heralds to a scoreless tie. The team from Detroit had claimed the championship of the Ohio-Michigan league. Chicago Press - Claims that the Illinois state title game will be held between the Joliet Steel works team and the Kewanee Regulars. Considering the Joliet team tied the same Aurora team that Rock Island beat, it would seem that Joliet’s claim would not hold up. Taylorville also is claiming the state title.
