INDEPENDENTS GO INTO BIG GAME CRIPPLED |
TUESDAY NOV. 10, 1914 Championship - You could say that both the Tri-City and State championships ride on this game. Unfortunately for the Independents it couldn't be at a worse time. Ernie MacManus is now able to walk without the use of a cane but he is in no condition to play this week. McGinnis is still hobbled by his bad ankle. Davenport is nursing his sore shoulder and he is still not 100 percent. Robb is still recovering from the gash on his face from a few weeks ago. Art Salzmann is still recovering from his wrenched right leg. Red Men - Sies, Brown, Coyle and Wolters are on the crippled list but it is rumored that they will all play. THURSDAY NOV. 12, 1914 Moline Fans Upset - This weeks game was supposed to be a return game for the locals in Moline. Due to the advantages of Island City Park and its capacity the game will be played there. Source -Rock Island Argus November 12th, 1914 |
