INDEPENDENTS BEAT MOLINE EAST ENDS TO STAY ALIVE FOR TRI CITY CHAMPIONSHIP

The two teams met on Athletic Field in Moline. On the opening kickoff the ball was fumbled by Johnson into and then out of his own end zone for a Safety. The Independents led 2-0. Later in the half O'Brien blocked a punt for Moline. Mack raced back and fell on the ball to prevent a Moline touchdown. The score was tied at 2-2.

 

Early in the second half the Independents were held on downs. Mack dropped back to punt, instead he took off on a fake and into the open field. Moline was caught off guard and Mack scored on a 76yd run. He added an extra point and the Independents held on to win 8-2.
